Blueberry Smash

IMG_8530

This week brings my father and I to Denmark and a one day trip to Malmo, Sweden meaning little time is found for the usual things, including this blog. Other than exploring the cuisine of this country (can I just eat smorrebrod and pastries until the minute my plane departs??!) and walking through the streets back to our little airbnb apartment getting drenched in Spring showers we haven’t had too much downtime.

This means my training for the 5km color run next month has been hard to fit in. Now, I know, 5km most people could do with their eyes closed, but with knee issues from previous injuries there was a self imposed year ban on running for my body and now just 10 minutes of interval training has me puffing more than I imagined possible for someone my age.

Leading into summer do you have any training yourself? If so, do you have any tips for someone who walks a lot but does little else?

After you’ve helped with your own tips this Blueberry Smash cocktail can be the reward. Even though it’s only Wednesday, this cocktail comes together in no time and is full on blueberry flavor and a little zing this recipe is perfect to welcome summer in the slow slog to vacation time.

Meanwhile, I’ll try and stay away from cocktails and keep finding time between sandwiches and pastries to give this training thing a go. If you are training for something too than good luck.
