This Warm Orange Passion Cocktail takes it’s inspiration from a restaurant in Mayfair here in London named Hush. Usually at this time of year they have movies in their courtyard and it is the kind of place you seek out because of the warmth of the food, environment and one winter I had the luck to be able to order a hot cocktail which I’ve craved ever since!
Due to current events that don’t need to explaining, the option to go and watch a movie in their courtyard whilst enjoying a warm cocktail isn't possible, so a little improvisation has to be whipped up. To make do for missing out on not being able to experience this fine establishment.
So much just doesn't look normal and this abnormality has been going on so long that the blur of life here in the UK is making seasonal depression heavier than usual. How are you finding ways to cope through this?
Facing another month or two sitting at home with only essential reasons to leave the house, this kind of bright warm drink to wrap between your hands and for some brightness into these dark January days which are cold and getting outside isn’t the most enticing option.
Someone asked me via a zoom call back to New Zealand what my favorite thing about London is and going to Hush in the middle of winter had to be something I looked forward to in the depths of a sweaty summer where the city is so full of tourists that you look forward to quieter and colder days where things are made for those of us that are here year round.
