Thai Iced Tea

Thai Ice TeaWith the Olympic games happening right now, it is making me want to get out and do some more traveling, particular hot places where Thai Iced Tea is served to get you through the humid heat.

My trip to Thailand was one of the rare occasions where I traveled with a friend and each day we had to find one way to cool down whilst out and about exploring the areas outside Phuket.

We ate our way through most places whilst spending a huge amount of time shopping and visiting beaches and often, one of my favorite parts of the day was stopping for iced drinks from vendors.

To say I love the Olympic games would be an understatement, I mean I have barely a sporting bone in my body, but I love to watch all the action. The tense races, where seconds can mean a win or loss. The extreme physique that a mere mortal like myself would dream of having.

In honor of this, I thought all the recipes I make while the flame burns in London will be in celebration of some of the many cultures coming together in the name of sport. With it being the summer races I’m sure some of the athletes would like to have a drink of this to cool down after their events.

How to make Thai Iced Tea

  • Make your tea: Place the tea bags into a jug and add in the hot water.
  • Steep: Let that steep until cold.
  • Sweet milk: Add in the milk and stir to combine.
  • Ice ice: Add in plenty of ice to your serving glasses.
  • Serve: Pour the tea over the ice and enjoy!

Tips for the best Thai Iced Tea

Speed up cooling of the tea: One way you could speed up the process of cooling the tea is to sit the jug in ice while the tea steeps cooling it faster, but still allowing the tea bags to fully infuse.
