This Citrus Refresher drink is an ode to my love of citrus, but really it began with my first word and the love affair that would ultimately end up being one that has stayed with me my whole life and leads to a start with oranges.
Let's go a long way back. When I say this, I mean, it was my first word. Let me set the scene, my father used to sit me on the kitchen bench as a small child and feed me fruit. I can imagine the way he slowed down the pronunciation for orange on what was likely a regular occurence as my dad loves to snack on both fresh and dried fruit.
I'm definitely my father's daughter and so an opportunity to make him smile and impress him, even at that early age makes sense. We've been as thick as thieves since my birth in that I was the oldest and father's and daughters always have a bond that can't be explained and ours, whilst not always easy, he is someone I always miss when we are not near each other.
So that first word cemented oranges as something to crave, orange juice is a treat and this Orange Refresher is an even bigger grown up treat. The muddled lime gives this a little zing and the gin is not a small amount, but doesn't overwhelm this because of the amount of orange juice.
Cheers with a glass of this!

Tips for the best Citrus Refresher
Halving the alcohol: One of these babies is quite strong and you can taste the gin, if you prefer not to taste the alcohol in your cocktail you could absolutely halve the gin and these would still taste great.
